You Remain the Same, and Your Years Will Never End

The purposes of this prayer are: Glorify God/Worship and Confidence/Hope.

Eternal God, the author of the letter to the Hebrews employed his familiarity with the Psalms and the Prophets to explain how Jesus is God and is therefore superior to other spiritual beings. The author pointed to Isaiah and to Psalm 110 where God the Father said to God the Son, “’In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.’ To which of the angels did God ever say, ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet’? Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:10–14 (NIV). Gracious Lord, Christians strong in their faith count themselves among those who will inherit salvation. We thank you, Heavenly Father, for the eternal salvation we are assured of receiving through our faith in your Son Jesus. Amen.
