The Unfolding of Your Words Gives Light

The purposes of this prayer are: Wisdom, Illumination and Holiness/Righteousness.

God Most High, the lofty heights of reverence and esteem in which the psalmist held your words exactly expresses our regard for all of the wisdom, inspiration, guidance and hope we obtain from reading your words in the Bible: “Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold, and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path. Your statutes are wonderful, therefore I obey them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands.” Psalm 119:127–131 (NIV). Lord, we pray that you open our minds and fill them with your wisdom and illumination. Lavish us with increased understanding of your will for our lives. We ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
