121 Days of Prayer

The purposes of this prayer are: Salvation and Gratitude.

Dear Heavenly Father, sometimes Jesus spoke in parables and other times he spoke clearly and directly. When Jesus discussed his being the bread of life, the Jews grumbled about his teachings. Jesus said to them, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” John 6:61–63 (ESV). Many of Jesus’ disciples found his teachings about eating Jesus’ body and drinking his blood too difficult to accept, however, and fell away. “So Jesus said to the twelve, ‘Do you want to go away as well?’ Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.’” John 6:67–69 (ESV). Lord, we pray that we never find your words too hard to accept. Help us to always remember that your words are spirit and life. There is no one else to whom we can go. Amen.
