Leader and Savior

The purposes of this prayer are: Fortitude and Spreading of the Gospel.

Righteous God, when we lack courage to do what we know is right, let us remember when Peter and the other disciples of Jesus were brought before the high priest for speaking about Jesus in the temple, and what Peter said to the high priest: “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” Acts 5:29–32 (ESV). Lord, help us to overcome our fears and always to do the right thing. Make us acceptable witnesses to the truth that is Jesus Christ. Amen.
