121 Days of Prayer

The purposes of this prayer are: Guidance/Purpose, Obedience and Wisdom.

Gracious God, at several different times throughout his book, the Preacher of Ecclesiastes observed that man can do no better than to obey your commandments and live within your will for his life, writing, “A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after wind.” Ecclesiastes 2:24–26 (NIV). Lord, we pray that we discern the vocation that you would have us do. Help us, too, Lord, to always live within your will for our lives. Each one of us wants to please you. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
