The purposes of this prayer are: Spreading of the Gospel, Salvation, Lovingkindness and Healing.

Almighty God, one time when Paul and Silas were imprisoned in Philippi, there was an earthquake that caused all the prison doors to open and everyone’s chains to fall off. The jailer, fearing that all the prisoners had escaped, was about to kill himself until Paul shouted out to him to stop because all the prisoners were still there. Then, the jailer perceiving that a miracle had taken place, “called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved- you and your household.’ Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds, then immediately he and all his family were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God- he and his whole family.” Acts 16:29–34 (NIV). Gracious God, the jailer had correctly understood that you had intervened that night in Philippi to set in motion a chain of events that led to Paul and Silas being released from captivity. Lord, you perform miracles every day that followers of Jesus with eyes of faith can plainly see. We thank you for your love for us and for the healing you bring to us. Amen.
