121 Days of Prayer

The purposes of this prayer are: Repentance, Holiness/Righteousness and Justice.

Righteous God, Isaiah did not sugarcoat their sins when convicting the Israelites of their failures before you: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is his ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God. And your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken falsehood, your tongue mutters wickedness.” Isaiah further reported of the Israelites that “their feet run to evil, and they hasten to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, devastation and destruction are their highways. They do not know the way of peace, and there is no justice in their tracks; they have made their paths crooked, whoever treads on them does not know peace. Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us.” Isaiah 59:1–3, 7–9 (NASB). Heavenly Father, we thank you for the substitutionary, sacrificial death of your Son, Jesus, on a cross. We are grateful for the faith you have given us to believe in Jesus. It is our faith in your Son that gives us eternal salvation and assures us that you hear our prayers. Help us, we pray, to repent of our sins so that we do not put up a wall of separation between us and you and cause you to hide your face from us. We ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
