The purposes of this prayer are: Guidance/Purpose, Humility and Justice.

God of All Creation, there is so much guidance for our lives to be found in the Bible that it would be foolish not to expend the time and effort to study it continuously and learn all that we can from it. The Psalms teach us that if we want to learn your ways, we must approach you with humble and contrite hearts: “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in justice, and he teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. For your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great. Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose. His soul will abide in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land. The secret of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he will make them know his covenant.” Psalm 25:8–14 (NASB). Heavenly Father, we pray that we only approach you in reverential fear and awe. Instruct us in your ways, Lord, so that our souls may abide in prosperity. Pardon our iniquities, for they are many. Amen.
