121 Days of Prayer

The purposes of this prayer are: Justice, Holiness/Righteousness, Humility and Resist Temptation.

Holy Lord, the prophet Habakkuk asked you how much longer you would allow the evil leadership in Judah to continue before putting a stop to it. You told him that you would soon be sending the Babylonians in to punish all the evil people. Then Habakkuk said that he did not understand how you could allow a people even more wicked than the evil Israelites in Judah to come and take over. You then revealed to him that the Babylonians would be punished and ousted in their turn, and those Israelites who remained faithful to you would be preserved and rewarded, saying, “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God. Wealth is treacherous, and the arrogant are never at rest. They open their mouths as wide as the grave, and like death, they are never satisfied. In their greed they have gathered up many nations and swallowed many peoples. But soon their captives will taunt them. They will mock them, saying, ‘What sorrow awaits you thieves! Now you will get what you deserve! You’ve become rich by extortion, but how much longer can this go on?’ Suddenly, your debtors will take action. They will turn on you and take all you have, while you stand trembling and helpless.” Habakkuk 2:4–7 (NLT). Lord, evil will continue to exist in the world until Jesus returns and defeats Satan and his demons in the final battle and throws them all into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). Until then, Christians must continue to resist the devil’s temptations and remain faithful to you to the end. Help us to maintain our faith, Jesus. Amen.
