The purposes of this prayer are: Glorify God/Worship, Illumination and Obedience.

Most Holy God, during the time when you revealed yourself to Moses for the first time from the burning bush, you instructed him on how to properly refer to you: “Then Moses said to God, ‘If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ What should I say to them?’ God said to Moses, ‘I Am who I Am,’ and he said, ‘Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I Am has sent me to you.’’ God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the people of Israel, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.’” Exodus 3:13–15 (ESV). Father, you are the great I Am. Jesus also revealed that he is I Am. John recorded that Jesus said, “I am the bread of life” John 6:35, and, “I am the light of the world” John 8:12, and also, “Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I Am” John 8:58. Jesus, you are our Savior, and we pray that you help us to worship you in spirit and in truth. Amen.
