Governing Authorities
The purposes of this prayer are: Good Leaders and Guidance/Purpose.
Holy God, we pray that the Holy Spirit guides us in electing good leaders. Paul wrote “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgement.” Romans 13:1–3 (NRSV). Lord, we pray for our leaders. Give them wisdom and guidance. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
