Marriage is For People Here On Earth

The purposes of this prayer are: Sanctification/Glorification, End Times/The Second Coming of Jesus and Illumination.

Majestic God, in an attempt to trap Jesus and trick him into saying something against Rome so that they would have a reason to get him arrested, the leaders of the Sadducees presented to Jesus a hypothetical situation in which a woman was married to seven brothers, one at a time, and after they all died, asked whose wife would she be after the resurrection? Jesus said to them, “Marriage is for people here on earth, but when those who are counted worthy of being raised from the dead get to heaven, they do not marry. And they never die again; in these respects they are like angels, and are sons of God, for they are raised up in new life from the dead.” Luke 20:34–36 (TLB). Lord, we pray that we may be counted worthy of being raised from the dead to new life. The apostle John reported that Jesus assured his listeners: “I say emphatically that anyone who listens to my message and believes in God who sent me has eternal life, and will never be damned for his sins, but has already passed out of death into life.” John 6:24 (TLB). Thank you, Jesus, for the salvation we receive from our faith in you. Amen.
