The purposes of this prayer are: Glorify God/Worship, Salvation and Gratitude.

Majestic Lord, we pray for your blessings upon our nation. Hear our prayers, Lord, and be our God. As the psalmist wrote, “Let everyone in all the world- men, women and children- fear the Lord and stand in awe of him. For when he but spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command! And with a breath, he can scatter the plans of all the nations who oppose him, but his own plan stands forever. His intentions are the same for every generation. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his own. The Lord gazes down upon mankind from heaven where he lives. He has made their hearts and closely watches everything they do.” Psalm 33:8–15 (TLB). Lord, we Christians of today revere you and stand in awe of you. We are spiritual descendants of the ancient Israelites, and we therefore believe that the consoling words you spoke to the Israelites who were in exile in Babylon apply to us too: “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. You will find me when you seek me, if you look for me in earnest.” Jeremiah 29:11–13 (TLB). Gracious Lord, we are seeking you earnestly. Please give us a hope and a future. We ask in the name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
