The purposes of this prayer are: Glorify God/Worship, Holiness/Righteousness, Confidence/Hope and Justice.

God of Creation, Psalm 96 is a celebration of your sovereignty over the whole world and the justice you enforce over its peoples: “Say among the nations, ‘The Lord is king! The world is firmly established; it shall never be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.’ Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord; for he is coming, for he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.” Psalm 96:10–13 (NRSV). Gracious Lord, let the voices of the faithful followers of Jesus join with the voices of the seas and the fields and all the trees of the forests in praise of your majesty, righteousness and justice. Without you, Heavenly Father, we have no hope. With you, we have more than we will ever need. Amen.
