121 Days of Prayer

I Pray Also that the Eyes of Your Heart May Be Enlightened

The purposes of this prayer are: Intercession, Confidence/Hope and Wisdom.

Omnipotent Lord, the apostle Paul prayed that the Ephesians would fully understand the immense significance of the inheritance that awaits the believers that place their trust in Jesus, writing, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:17–21 (NIV). Lord, we grasp the immense importance of the salvation available to us through Jesus. More knowledge of our salvation is available to us than what Paul was even aware of, for we have all of the books of the New Testament to read and understand which deepen our faith in Christ. Through the efforts of the many evangelistic ministries across the world, the Good News of Jesus has probably never been as widespread as it is today. Thank you, Father, for the truth that we find in the Living Word, the Bible. Amen.
