The purposes of this prayer are: Guidance/Purpose, Wisdom and Obedience.

God of Salvation, the apostle Paul continued to work and to pay his own way during his missionary trips (“We were not idle when we were with you, and we did not eat anyone’s bread without paying for it; but with toil and labor we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:7–8 NRSV). After reminding the Thessalonians of this, he told them that “we gave you this command: anyone unwilling to work should not eat. For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work. Now such persons we commend and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10–13 (NRSV). Lord, we pray that you guide us to the work that you want us to perform and that you help us to complete our duties well. May all that we do be for your glory. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
