God’s Temple is Holy, and You are That Temple

The purposes of this prayer are: Holiness/Righteousness, Mercy, Forgiveness and Reconciliation.

Heavenly Father, Paul addressed the strife and the quarreling within his Corinthian flock by reminding them that they composed the temple of God and that there would be severe consequences for anyone who caused discord within God’s temple: “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.” 1 Corinthians 3:16–17 (ESV). Gracious God, a person who attempted to destroy your temple would not lose his salvation because he would have shown himself not to have been a true Christian and would, therefore, not have had eternal salvation to lose. Father, we pray that our faith in Jesus remains steadfast and secure to our last breath. Let us never engage in quarreling with other members of our church. Amen.
