Fight the Good Fight

The purposes of this prayer are: Guidance/Purpose, Resist Temptation, Obedience and Perseverance.

Gracious God, Paul urged Timothy, who he called his son in the faith, to maintain his faith no matter what difficulties he might face knowing that his reward is in heaven: “Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you might fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.” 1 Timothy 1:18–20 (NIV). Lord, we pray that we always have the courage to stand fast and fight the good fight, resisting all the temptations that the devil places before us. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
