Without Ceasing I Mention You Always in My Prayers

The purposes of this prayer are: Spreading of the Gospel, Increased Faith and Inspiration/Encouragement.

Everlasting God, Paul told his flock in Rome that he hoped to visit them soon to share spiritual blessings with them: “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God’s will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you- that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Romans 1:8–12 (ESV). Gracious Lord, it would be hard for us to conceive of any evangelist who could be more motivated and caring than Paul was to preach to and care for the people he converted to Christianity. We thank you for Paul’s epistles that are preserved in the Bible. His letters are critical to properly understanding how Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross and his resurrection relate to the Old Testament. We pray that our missionaries strive to emulate Paul. Amen.
