This is Eternal Life, That They Know You the Only True God

The purposes of this prayer are: Glorify God/Worship, Salvation and Illumination.

Majestic God, Jesus is the co-eternal, pre-existent second person of the Holy Trinity. In a prayer that Jesus spoke that was recorded in the book of John, he said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.” John 17:1–5 (ESV). Gracious Lord, Jesus is our mediator between you, God the Father, and us. We would all be hopelessly lost in our sins and eternally condemned to separation from you if it were not for Jesus’ substitutionary, sacrificial death on the cross, in the place of all who place their enduring faith in their Savior, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
