You, O Lord, Are Supreme Over All the Earth

The purposes of this prayer are: Holiness/Righteousness, Glorify God/Worship, Protection and Obedience.
Sovereign Lord, the psalmist praised you for protecting your people, writing, “You, O Lord, are supreme over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. You who love the Lord, hate evil! He protects the lives of his godly people and rescues from the power of the wicked. Light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right. May all who are godly rejoice in the Lord, and praise his holy name!” Psalm 97:9–12 (NLT). Gracious Lord, we place our faith in your Son, Jesus, and therefore are your people too. We hate evil and always strive to adhere to Jesus’ teachings. Give us, we pray, hearts obedient to your will. Amen.
